Original Christmas Poems from Ahrend Walters

Christmastime is special to the Believer Poet. Ahrend Walters shares with you his Christmas poetry.

When you read the poetry of Ahrend Walters, let go of preconceived notions and keep your mind open. When you see a poem with two columns read the first line on the left, then the next line on the right, back to the left and then to the right, through the whole poem.

Although not designed to completely read the first column on the left and then the column on the right, you can do so and perhaps get additional insight from the poems.

Beneath The Tree

By: Ahrend R. Walters
Believer Poet
Christmas 2008

Christmas has again arrived
As change is but alive
The One given for us all
His love is bright as fall

He works through every soul
Let's believe as He does toll
At the lives that now do live
Yes truly He does give
it of warmth love and peace
lets trust in Christ our King
He at winters summer spring
though confusion life may bring

He who lied in a manger
and wonders we will see
and from the souls that dwell in we
we're each a gift beneath the tree

Our Jolly Christmas Tune

By: Ahrend R. Walters
Believer Poet
Christmas 2008

If now dear friend you shiver
At this special season
The fire of all comfort
The meaning of our Christmas

He's where may be confusion
Seek dear friend He merry
Find Him now this season
He longs to come and warm
while lights are beaming bright
seek at winter's night
the peace of tender love
Christ warmth for all above

worry guilt or pain
the sweetest candy cane
as creatures all commune
our jolly Christmas tune

Your Christmas Treat

From: Ahrend R. Walters & His Critter Friends
December 2007

From this farm in the country
Quite near to their plastic
We write to you now
To share at this Christmas
The sweetness of love
And how lowly He laid
Our Hope our Life
He given by God
Taste Him at now
He beaten and bruised
He's waiting at here
For all in this slice
where rest many holes
muddy feed bowls
my critters and I
through freshly baked pie
remember His birth
in a manger on earth
our Shepherd and Friend
to save us from sin
the sweetness of love
He mocked and shoved
so pleasantly sweet
Your Christmas Treat

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6 — New International Version

A Kiss of Christmas Spice

From Ahrend R. Walters
December 9, 2006

During this time of Christmas
Around the wamrth and spice
I pray you know it's here
The love of Jesus Christ
The gracious joy is lingering too
And the glorious bells do toll
The church is lighted on a hill
As the winter now is whole
Hear the truth of our King
His birth of love and peace
Hear our reason to be kind
From the dawn it's released
On the Christmas day o' there
The truth was born to men
As the gentle manger waited
For the greatest known and then
Here he was and too did walk
He gave and then he died
The warmth of his perfect heart
Is now alive though crucified
As this time of Christmas
Can be of warmth and of spice
May you all find happiness
A tender kiss from Christ

Ahrend Walters is in his early twenties, but he is already a prolific writer. To date he has published five volumes of original poetry.
