A Dream and a Spiritual Experience
from a Hooting Owl

The Believer Poet recently had a spiritual experience early one morning after a special dream. He desires to share with you the poem he wrote from this experience as well as some of his thoughts about it.

From Ahrend Walters:
We all go through the struggles of life. We go through ups and downs, good times and bad. During those times we may wonder if God exists. Have you ever wondered "is there a God who loves us and who wants to help us in our times of need?"

I want all to know our God is alive to help. He is alive and filled with much love for everyone. Our God is bigger then we are. He loves all His children. We're all children of God.

Wednesday was a pretty tough day for me. I was worried, stressed, and restless. I've had a lot going on this week. I prayed before bed and asked God to bring me peace.

It took a while for me to fall sleep, but I did. While sleeping I can remember dreaming with thoughts swirling in my mind. I was not at ease, I was tense, restless, then suddenly I awoke to an owl hooting. Owls are my favorite animal and I often call God the wisest Owl in many of my poems.

I believe the Owl that hooted next to my shack was God. He hooted so graciously. I was filled with a precious peace. The dogs barked and chickens crowed. I believe the barks and crows were the farm animals praising our Father, as He perched in a near by tree. What a wonderful thought. Below is a poem about this peaceful experience.

Hoots Of Peace
By: Ahrend R. Walters
Deep asleep
Before I woke
I dreamed a thought
While ticked a clock
I woke to hoots
I knew the Owl
He perched
Beneath
The dogs barked
They praised
To He our Lord
The Owl who hooted
Across the farm
He's where I am
at night in bed
and swiftly fed
of troubled fight
near morning bright
of peace and love
was Christ above
at near my shack of glow
the only moon I know
the chickens crowed
it was a lovely ode
so great and true
peace then flew
through thickened far
and where you are
