The Poet Shack is Where Believer Poet Ahrend Walters Lives
Believer Poet Ahrend Walters lives in a simple building he has dubbed his "Poet Shack". It is here on this small plot of land where he lives simply, in the country surrounded by nature and his numerous animals, and where he writes many of his poems.
Nature, animals, and indeed all of God's creation, are very dear to Ahrend Walters. He draws inspiration from this place near Wiggins, Mississippi. He can commune with God and he delights in
the trees, the small creek that babbles nearby, and in the splash of daily sunlight and the heavenly curtain of stars.

Ahrend Walters is a young man and a poet with an incredible gift and a strong faith. He will tell anyone who listens that God has called him to a life dedicated to Jesus Christ and that his gift for writing is to point to the perfection that can only be achieved in Christ. His writing is not his only gift. He is also a musician, singer and painter and he uses all of his gifts for the purpose he believes he has been called. But it is specifically through his poetry that he expresses the beauty and harmony of life. This he finds not only in the good, but also in the struggle. He is not so naïve as to believe that all things are sweet and wonderful. But all things are created by a loving God and therefore all things are used for a universal goodness.

Dancing Grace is an original poem by Ahrend Walters describing his Poet Shack.

Dancing Grace By: Ahrend R. Walters
A leaking shower was to sour Then my neighbor gave his labor At his place I saw the grace My worn shoes beneath a bruise
When I was there the window's flared Shined a light at the night While we gazed I was amazed The purest grace the one we faced | a wall of my shack afterwards we yakked while propped on his truck were covered in a muck
from my shack below it was a soothing glow at the dance it shared as down the hill we stared |
Muddy Feet is an original poem by Ahrend Walters about living at his Poet Shack and the joy of a primitive shower after working on his land.

Muddy Feet By: Ahrend R. Walters September 4, 2007
Tonight I took my shower I found my breath taken away it felt so good it felt so good Rinsed from my body Out in these woods Where yet is not a sink I find the blessings At the rough times | under a water hose at that refreshing time though at there I froze was the filth and grime where live my critter friends nor a toilet nor a shower that out Lord sends they rest in the hour |
Gi Food ant is an original poem by Ahrend Walters he wrote while contemplating little to eat, but enough to get by. There's more if you read between the lines.

Gi Food ant By: Ahrend R. Walters
A loaf of bread some milk and spread Too some cheese while sugars teased
Left for home where creatures roamed Christ our Lord the perfect chord
He said believe and you'll receive I am there when seems unfair
If you'll give at where you live There I'm be to set you free | I bought from a store I a poet poor
I heard the mighty king the song the birds sing
in times of the distress I will truly bless
a prayer to me above I the hope and love |
